OUR STORY

Today we look back at more than 20 years of experience in the heliskiing business. Since 2014, all activities are being bundled in the “Heliguides AG”, a swiss joint-stock company based in direct vicinity to the Bodensee in Konstanz. Our roots actually reach much further back in time since most of the professionals working in management positions in the Heli-Guides group have been working in this sector for more than 30 years. Many of them were co-founders of our first Italian company, Guidemonterosa S.R.L., under which our first heliskiing destination in Gressoney has been operating for over 20 years now. Regions like the Val Formazza have been added and today are among the first choices for heliskiing in the Alps. The year 2019 has been overshadowed by grief due to the accidental death of our co-founder and director Frank Henssler. We were deeply in shock at the beginning of the year but have restructured management by now and are energetically and confidently looking towards the season of 2020.

OUR NETWORK

Since its beginnings in Gressoney at the Monte Rosa we have been able to establish more than ten heliski spots and local offices in the Alps. As one of the very few companies in the heliski and freeride business we are a true full-service provider, delivering all services at first hand – including our own helicopter services through GMH Helicopter Service S.R.L., which was founded in 2012. Our helicopter teams provide flying expertise and experience over several decades. Among our own offices, we trust on a strong network of agency and heliskiing partners worldwide, providing you the opportunity for diversified skiing trips in overseas and a reliable service nearby!

YOUR ADVANTAGES

We could list pages here, but we prefer to keep it short and rather let you convince yourself on the spot! No long journey, no jetlag, culinary highlights of Italy, luxury hotels, Airbus AS 350 B3 helicopters which are used in our heliski destinations with small groups of max. 4 participants, offer a maximum of flexibility and service and, last but not least, we can tell you the truth about the weather. 😉 Our heliski destinations are usually located in or close to ski resorts, famous for off-piste skiing and is a true alternative for Downdays!

Information about Covid-19

Dear friends and heliskiing fans,

all over the world the Corona situation is very tense and as we know the virus had spread rapidly also in Italy.

However, the good news is that heliskiing is possible at our spots and we are allowed to operate our tours there, even though some of the ski areas are still closed.

Your safety is important to us. That’s why we have prepared a comprehensive hygiene and safety concept.

The Italian government has initiated a variety of measures to prevent the further spread of the Corona virus.

What applies if you have booked a heliskiing tour with us and you are arriving from abroad?

Please read this short summary*:

Who is allowed to enter Italy?

  • The Italian government has grouped countries into several lists that have different restrictions.
  • Most of our guests come from countries that are listed in List C, This list includes, for example: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Sweden, and Luxembourg. Entry into Italy from these countries is generally possible.
An overview of all lists and the country classifications can be found here.resp.here.

What do you have to consider when you arrive from a country that is listed in list C?

  1. Traveling to/from these countries is allowed without the need to certify the motivation for the trip.
  2. You must undergo a molecular or antigenic test, within 48 hours prior to entry.
  3. You have to fill-in and to carry the required self-declaration.
You can download the self-declaration here.
  4. The local health authority must be informed. about your stay. Please provide your arrival and departure times. We’ll be happy to inform the corresponding health authority of your stay.
Here you will find an overview of the contact details of the health authorities.
  5. Carry a facial mask with you when you leave your room / apartment

Self-isolation is not necessary as long as the Corona test is negative, and the above points are followed.

A summary of the requirements when arriving from a List C country can be found here.

What do the colors mean that the Italian regions are divided into?

  • Italy has divided its regions into colors, depending on the current corona situation. Yellow stands for a normal security risk, orange for a medium to high security risk and red for the highest security risk.
  • Currently we run our heliskiing tours in Aosta Valley (Courmayeur, etc.) and in the Lobardy (Madesimo, etc. exception: Livigno). Both regions have been classified as yellow zones.
A summary of the requirements when arriving from a List C country can be found here.
  • Currently we run our heliskiing tours in Aosta Valley (Courmayeur, etc.) only, which has been classified as an orange zone.

  • What does yellow zone mean?

    • Curfew from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am.
    • Traveling from one region/community to another is only possible for urgent reasons evidenced by an internal self-declaration.
    • You can consume food and drinks in restaurants, pizzerias, bars and from catering providers. Take away is allowed until 10:00 pm; delivery services are unlimited available.
    • Heliskiing is possible within the region area.A detailed overview of the specifications in a yellow zone can be found here. What do you have to consider if you travel by car via Switzerland or Austria?

        Transit through Switzerland
      • Entry from a Schengen country for the purpose of passing on to another Schengen country is possible for all persons in general. For persons coming from a non-Schengen country, special regulations apply in some cases. An overview of transit through Switzerland can be found here.
      • Transit through Austria
      • - Currently, transit passengers or persons passing through Austria without a stopover may enter (or re-enter) Austria without restrictions. For stopovers in Austria, stricter regulations apply. An overview of transit in Austria can be found here.

    * Despite the greatest possible care, we cannot guarantee the listed points above. Please get additional information from other sources.

Since the regulations of the home countries, regions, residential districts, and cities are unfortunately not uniform, we would like to ask you to inform yourself if and which regulations apply when you return to your home country after your heliskiing tour.

We’re happy to help you for further assistance.
