What’s special about Passo Tonale
The Passo Tonale with its 1884m devides the Val Camonica in the Lombardy and the Val di Sole in Trentino and is located in the Adamello group with peaks up to 3500m. The areas around the Passo Tonale provide the best for freeriding in Italy and offer record heights every year. On top, the area has remained spared from hordes of freeriders – thanks to the long journey to get there. That is why you will also find enough powder after the last days of snowfall.
We recommend a freeride tour only with accompaniment of a trained mountain and ski guide. “On your own” to explore a region that is away from villages and rescue opportunities, could bring you in trouble. It can have serious consequences if you meet the local requirements of the mountains without experience.
Choose the perfect date for your freeride in Italy
In the last years, the Passo Tonale repeatedly offered record heights and guarantees powder thanks to its altitude. The frequent southern accumulations bring fresh snow. From December to End of March you will often encounter here the desired powder snow.
